The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Midsouth region is hosting a Louisville Agents Day for MG and YA novelists on Saturday, August 15th from 9am – 3pm.  Please see our Agents Day Brochure for details of this fun and information-packed day.  Attendees will need to bring TWO COPIES of the first two pages of a novel AND a query letter.

Go local!  We are offering a great program filled with opportunities to connect with outstanding literary agents based in the Midsouth area. The schedule includes: query letter feedback, a marketplace panel, first page manuscript critiques, Q&A, and small group discussions with the agents. This conference is open to published and unpublished authors and illustrators.  Please note, these agents represent MG and YA.

The Agents:

MacLeod joined The Strothman Agency in 2007 after graduating from Emerson College with BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing.  She specializes in young adult and middle grade fiction (including Jodi Meadows, author of the INCARNATE and THE ORPHAN QUEEN series and  Hélène Boudreau, author of the REAL MERMAIDS series) in addition to handling the Barbara Cooney Estate and foreign and subsidiary rights for the Strothman Agency. She is a full member of the Association of Authors Representatives. She lives in Nashville, TN and tweets under @Lauren_MacLeod.

Brent Taylor joined the TriadaUS Literary Agency in 2014, assisting Uwe Stender and working on his own list of fiction for kids, teens, and adults. Prior to joining TriadaUS, he spent years interning in publishing, most recently at The Bent Agency. He lives and works in Louisville, KY and can be found on Twitter @NaughtyBrent.
